Meet Robin and Peter from Transition Farm (my farming heroes). They run a small-scale (2.75 acres), sustainable market garden based on the Mornington Peninsula. They feed 120 families through a CSA model over three seasons. Robin and Peter are shinning examples of how to be good farmers. What’s their secret?… I think it’s the fact they care deeply about their contribution to the world. They give back to the earth, which is unlike most conventional farming.
“We are focused on preserving and enhancing our natural ecosystem and keeping the “real food” taste alive by biodynamically growing chemical free, nutritious vegetables and fruit.”
Photographing Robin and Peter at Transition Farm was a pivotal moment in helping me to understanding the creative direction that I wanted move towards. Spending time on the farm, hearing their genuine love for farming, knowledge sharing and food made me realise I wanted to focus my photography career specifically on all things food and farming. From this realisation a side projected was created with Karen Locke called Will Work For Food.
